Future research
Studies we plan to run as funding is raised.
Across longevity and wellness therapeutics, including treatments that might affect neurodegenerative diseases such as dementia and ALS as well as metabolic, cardiac and musculoskeletal health, there is great debate over whether common therapies, from metformin to rapamycin to CJC-1295 or BPC-157, show any signal of harm or benefit.
Where the questions are
Neurodegenerative
Dementia, ALS
Metabolic
Weight, insulin resistance, liver fat
Cardiac
Blood pressure, lipids, heart risk
Musculoskeletal
Tendon, joint, muscle, bone
Therapies under debate
Every row states a question we want to answer. None of them claims an answer.
| Therapy | The open question |
|---|---|
| Metformin | Does it change health outcomes in people who do not have diabetes? |
| Rapamycin | Is intermittent low-dose use safe, and does it change aging-related outcomes? |
| CJC-1295 | What are its safety and effects at the doses people actually use? |
| BPC-157 | Is it safe in humans, and does it help tissue heal? |
How a planned study moves forward
- DesignedThe full protocol and analysis plan are written.
- FundedFunding is raised. Funders get no say in the science.
- ApprovedIndependent IRB review, plus regulatory authorization where required.
- ReportedResults are published whatever they show.
